Synopsis: Kimberly Carnevale, a traumatic brain
injury survivor, who because of seizures and ambulation
issues partners with a service dog.
After a number of experiences of access denial with her
service dog in public areas she started an organization
called Canine and Abled. Ms. Carnevale relates her
personal story and discusses her services dogs as well as
gives general information about service dogs.
Ms. Carnevale discusses service dogs, issues around
discrimination, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the
public outreach she does through Canine and Abled.
About Our Guest: Kimberly Carnevale was an
accomplished professional equestrian rider. She became a traumatic brain
injury survivor as result of a motor vehicle accident. She is the founder of Canine and
Abled, an organization that provides education, awareness
and advocacy related to service dogs. Ms. Carnevale provides
training to business and organizations as well as
presentations for children and youth.
